The UCI Management Committee has announced that Neuquén will stage the event on November 18.

It will be the second successive year the tournament has been held in South America after Chile played host to last year’s edition where Christa von Niederhäusern of Switzerland and Niels Bensink won the respective women’s and men’s titles.

Cairns in Australia has been confirmed as the host of both the 2024 and 2024 UCI Masters Mountain Bike Championships.

Next year’s event is due to be staged from May 16 to 19, with the 2025 event scheduled to be held from May 15 to 18.

New dates have also been agreed for several other UCI competitions, including the Gravel World Championships which is set to take place from October 7 to 8 in Venetia in Italy.

Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to host the Urban Cycling World Championships from December 10 to 14 in 2024, before staging the Gran Fondo World Championships from October 25 to 29 in 2028.

The UCI Management Committee also approved the calendars for the World Cups in trials, cycle-ball and artistic cycling but are not expected to be published until Tuesday (February 7).

Changes to this year’s Para-cycling Road World Cup Calendar have been ratified with the first round of the series now scheduled to be staged from April 20 to 23 in Maniago in Italy.

The Italian leg is due to be followed by two further events, with Ostend in Belgium playing host from May 4 to 7 before the series is completed from May 26 to 29 in Huntsville in the United States.

The qualification system for this year’s Road World Championships was also rubbered stamped but it is not due to be made unveiled until the start of next month.

The UCI Management Committee meeting was held in the Dutch town in Hoogerheide where the Cyclo-cross World Championships is taking place.
