Japan's Eiya Hashimoto won the men's elimination race in the 2023 International Cycling Union (UCI) Track Nations Cup in Jakarta.

The seven-time Asian Championship gold medallist edged past Belgium's Jules Hesters, who took second place.

Yoeri Havik of The Netherlands secured third place, with Hashimoto's team mate Kazishige Kuboki ending in fourth.

Ally Wollaston of Australia won the women's elimination race, where she overcame Britain's Evan Neah, who finished second while third place went to Marit Raaijmakers of The Netherlands.

In the women's team pursuit, which happened first, it was New Zealand who secured first place after a total time of 4min 8sec to capture gold.

France were five seconds away from first place as they achieved a silver medal.

Britain battled with Australia for the last podium spot, where they edged past them with a total time of 4:14, whilst Australia finished in 4:19.

Denmark won the men's team pursuit finals with a time of 3:49. 

New Zealand were right behind them, finishing only 700 milliseconds after the winners.

Like the women's side, Britain were able to defeat Australia for a third place finish by only 800 milliseconds.

Germany were the victors in the women's team sprint final, only beating China by 100 milliseconds.

Britain secured yet another third place finish as they beat The Netherlands in the bronze matchup by about 400 milliseconds.

The men's team sprint ended with Australia as winners, finishing with a time 42.6. 

Behind them was The Netherlands, who lasted 48.7.

In the bronze matchup, France secured the medal with a time of 42.6. 

Japan finished with 43 on the stopwatch, narrowly missing on a podium position.

The competition will continue tomorrow in Jakarta, with keirin, omnium and sprint races taking place.
