Jordan Stolz was victorious in the men's 1,500 metres race, winning his third gold at the 2023 International Skating Union (ISU) World Speed Skating Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands.

The American, who claimed seven titles at the Junior World Championships earlier this year, won the 500 metres and 1,000 metres crowns earlier in the competition.

He finished the race in 1min 43.59sec, in front of second placed Kjeld Nuis of the Netherlands, who completed the race 0.23 behind.

Nuis' compatriot Thomas Krol secured third as he finished 00.71sec behind the leader. 

In the women's 1,500 metres, Antoinette Rijpma-De Jong claimed gold with a time of 1:53.54 while Norway's Ragne Wiklund finished 0.76 behind.

In third was Japan's Miho Takagi, who was 0.09 seconds behind Wiklund.

In the 10,000 metres men's race, Davide Ghiotto of Italy achieved his personal best, securing a time of 12:41.35.

In second was Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands, who was 14 seconds behind Ghiotto, while third was Canada's Ted-Jan Bloeman, who was 20 seconds adrift.

Irene Schouten of the Netherlands achieved a track record of 6:41.25, which was also her personal best, in the women's 5,000 metres race.

Second-placed Wiklund also achieved her personal best, finishing in a time of 6:46.15.

Czech Republic's Martina Sáblíková took third place, finishing 6.5 seconds behind the leader.

Today's racing concludes competition in Heerenveen, with the hosts finishing top of the overall medals table, with 17, including seven golds.
