But the battle for the overall honours in slopestyle will go to the wire and Switzerland’s Andri Ragettli, despite being 60 points adrift, still has an outside chance of overtaking the 22-year-old in the final event of the season on his home slope of Silvaplana on Saturday (March 25).

"The overall Crystal Globe - I think I’ve got that locked in, so that’s sick," Ruud, who won with a score of 96.00, said.

"Two in a row.

"Still one more competition to go to make sure I can get slopestyle, too, though.

"I’m not done yet."

Sweden’s Jesper Tjader took second place with 94.00, with Ragettli in third on 92.50 points.

Switzerland’s Olympic and world champion Mathilde Gremaud also had a victorious slopestyle outing in Tignes as she secured her first World Cup win in that event in four years, winning with a score of 96.25.

Second place, after scoring 95.25, was enough to confirm Norway’s Johanne Killi as the women’s slopestyle champion with one event remaining - her total of 380 means she leads by 170 - but the overall title will go to the wire in Silvaplana as Killi has 380 points and Gremaud 326.

Third place on the day went to Megan Oldham of Canada, who scored 90.00.
