Olympic bronze medallist Jessica Gadirova has added a continental all-around title to her name after prevailing in the women's event at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Turkey.

The British 18-year-old produced a series of remarkable performances across the four apparatus to set a total score of 55.032 points in the Antalya Sports Hall.

She set a leading 13.933 in the floor exercise while picking up second-place finishes in the vault and beam.

The uneven bars represented her lowest total, as she came seventh, but it did not matter as she scraped past Zsófia Kovács of Hungary who was 0.133 off top spot.

Italy's Alice D'Amato rounded out the podium with a bronze medal-winning performance of 54.500 points.

It marks her fifth European medal and first in the all-around.

"It's hard to put this into words, the emotions are running so high I'm over the moon," said Gadirova.

"It's been an ambition of mine to become all-around champion and now it's come true.

"It's such an incredible feeling competing, that's why I love gymnastics, I love to perform and show my gymnastics off, it's just so much fun and to be on this journey with the team feels incredible.

"The support from my friends, family, fans, coaches and British Gymnastics, everyone behind the scenes - they mean so much to me and I couldn't do this without them."

The result caps off a superb Championships for Gadirova who was also a part of Britain's women's team that won gold earlier in Turkey.

It was a historic feat as no other British team had won the title.

Gadirova also has floor exercise victories from Munich 2022 and Basel 2021 in addition to her Liverpool 2022 World Championships floor exercise gold.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with the individual discipline events for both men and women.
