The competition, which follows the success of the medal design competition for the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore last year, invited people from around the world to submit their design to be used on the gold, silver and bronze medals awarded at the event.

The deadline to enter the competition has now expired but people have until June 30 to vote for the favourite design and they can click on each of the many designs entered in order to see them in gold, silver and bronze before they make their vote.

An Innsbruck 2012 statement says: "You can now vote for your favourite medal.

"After the public have voted, an International Olympic Committee (IOC) jury will select the final winner from the 10 designs gaining the most public votes."

The winning designer will receive a VIP trip for two to the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympic Games, including flights, hotel accommodation as well as entry to the Opening Ceremony and competitions.

They will also receive a special replica of the Innsbruck 2012 medal they designed.
