NOGOE (No to Greenwich Olympic Equestrian Events), who are the members of the Friends of Greenwich Park and other local societies who are opposed to letting London 2012 use the World Heritage site, have organised a "Ring Round the Park" to again show local opposition to the plans. 
 
A spokesman for NOGOE said: "It is an opportunity for members to demonstrate opposition to the Olympic equestrian events, as well as a fun family afternoon out for those who are not in agreement with LOCOG."

Supporters are being asked to turn up at 2.30pm tomorrow with a metre of green or white ribbon so that children can decorate them.

Last month London 2012 agreed to cut by half the period of time that the Park would be closed in 2012. 

It was is one of a series of measures agreed by organisers to try to appease local residents who are against the Royal Park, which history dates back to the 15th century and was a favourite hunting ground of Henry VIII, being used during the Games because they fear that it will damage it.
