The committee members and relevant specialists gathered at the conference to discuss the application file.

 

Each bid committee must provide answers and information for a list of 25 questions relating to nine fields, as requested by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

 

Each applicant has to submit the application file to the IOC by March 15, 2010.

 

It will be Pyeongchang's third bid to host the Games having been narrowly beaten by Vancouver for 2010 and Sochi for 2014.

 

They are the early favourites for this race in a field that also includes Munich and Annecy.

 

Kim Jin-sung, a co-chairman of the bid committee, said: "The group of experts have already been accredited for expertise during the last two attempts for the 2010 and 2014 events.

 

"As they have a vast wealth of know-how in their areas, I look forward to the best bid file coming out.''

 

The venue for the 2018 Games will be selected at an IOC Session is Durban on July 6, 2011.
