Bleasdale pole vaults into Olympic contention at top of world rankings

Holly Bleasdale_23-01-12January 22 - British pole-vaulter Holly Bleasdale (pictured) has catapulted herself into the Olympic reckoning for London 2012 by recording an indoor clearance of 4.87 metres, which has only been beaten indoors by Russia's double Olympic champion and multiple world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva, and which puts her fourth on the all-time list for outdoor competition.

Pippa MiddletonJanuary 11 - The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust has had two pieces of good news this week – learning that Pippa Middleton, younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, will be working for it in the run-up to the London 2012 Games, and being named as a delivery partner in the new £1 billion ($1.5 billion/€1.2 billion) Youth and Community Strategy unveiled by Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
