October 10 - Angolan capital Luanda will stage this years African Mens Wheelchair Basketball ChampionshipsThis year's African Men's Wheelchair Basketball Championships have been moved from Egypt to Angola as a result of ongoing security fears and political unrest in the North African country.

The Angolan Paralympic Committee (APC) has announced the Championships will now take place in the country's capital Luanda from October 24 to November 3.

Political tension and unrest in Egypt has intensified in recent months following the removal of Mohammed Morsi as President by the country's military leaders in July, which has seen Morsi detained in a secret location since.

The move has lead to widespread clashes and violence between supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood, and opposition protestors who are backing the interim government.

Morsi is due to stand trial in Cairo on November 4, accused of inciting violence which lead to the deaths of at least seven protestors outside the Presidential Palace in the Egyptian capital last year.

They will be joined in Luanda by second and third ranked sides Nigeria and Zimbabwe, along with Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and hosts Angola.
