About
During the 2018 European Games, the Olympic Sports Complex will host the beach soccer and archery events.
The Olympic Sports Complex was established in 1998 and is used both as a professional training site for Belarusian athletes and as a public sports and recreational facility.
The beach soccer venue which will be used at the Minsk 2019 European Games has been officially opened.
The 1,500-capacity National Beach Soccer Stadium, which is located within the Olympic Sports
Complex and is the only non-existing venue for Minsk 2019, was built in just two months.
A test event, the first in any sport for Minsk 2019, was held in August 2018 with four teams taking part in a Euro Beach Soccer League tournament.
Hosts Belarus were joined by Italy, Poland and Turkey.
An archery test event is set to be held in May 2019.
It will form part of a Belarusian Championship, allowing athletes to evaluate the infrastructure of the Olympic Sports Complex and reveal what, if any, problems need addressing prior to the Games.
