On June 15, 2002, at 83 years of age and after years of maintaining what would be his last fight, this time against stomach cancer, Choi Hong Hi, who is recognized as the father of Taekwon-Do, died. 22 years later, the International Taekwon-Do Federation honors its founder and first president.

The sentence "Taekwon-Do is for everyone" was already stated in the first edition of the encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do several decades ago. With the official International Adapted Course, the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) was actively promoting "adapted" teaching and training methods for Taekwon-Do students with special needs. Now, the next level of inclusion was reached with internationally harmonised rules for the so-called adapted Taekwon-Do competitions.

Asia is the continent where Taekwon-Do was born and where it took its first steps at the hands of its creator, General Choi Hong Hi, and a select group of students, who carried out demonstrations beyond the borders of Korea. But now only 20 Asian countries are active members of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

The International Taekwon-Do Federation was originally founded in 1966 in Seoul. Since then and over time, the ITF moved its headquarter together with the legal registration to a few countries. The most recent move was decided in the ITF General Assembly on 3 October, 2022, moving the ITF to Lausanne, Switzerland, coming into force on 1 January 1. Together with the move, new statutes were approved replacing all previous texts.

President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), Paul Weiler, has said World Taekwon-Do is not an enemy, but rather an organisation with a different style that can complement the goal of making the sport more popular worldwide, in an exclusive interview with Inside The Games.

All Europe Taekwon-do Federation (AETF) Secretary General Yavor Tasev spoke exclusively to Inside The Games at the European Taekwon-Do Championships in Lublin, Poland, which featured pre-juniors for the first time.

The Norwegian team dominated the 38th European Taekwon-Do Championships 2024 at the Medical University of Lublin in Poland. Slovenia and Ireland completed the podium in a tournament with a record number of participants.

The final day of competition at the 38th AETF European Taekwon-Do Championships 2024 began with Norway quickly taking the lead, tripling the gold medal tally of its six closest rivals and positioning itself as the frontrunner for the European crown.

The home team excelled in the U-18 category to win the 29th AETF Junior European Taekwon-Do Championships 2024 in Lublin. Ukraine did the same in the inaugural Pre-Junior event.

The annual congress of the All Europe Taekwondo Federation AETF) was held in the prestigious Lublin Conference Centre as part of the European Taekwon-Do event in Lublin. Issues of constitutional change were discussed, as well as the selection of the next host of the 2025 European Championships.

On Saturday, after the All Europe Taekwon-do Federation (AETF) Congress in Lublin, the three simultaneous championships of the best European taekwon-do started early. Romania topped the medals table with 5 medals in just over three hours of senior competition.

Another day of top European taekwon-do came to an end in Lublin with Poland winning 11 medals (six gold) in the junior category and Norway in the senior category. This took place on the eve of the All Europe Taekwon-do Federation Congress (AETF).

A new day of top European taekwon-do began in Poland on Friday with the long-awaited senior categories, as well as the juniors and pre-juniors who had been competing since before the opening ceremony on Wednesday.
