Pakistan won the men's Asian Champions Trophy in KakamigaharaNovember 10 - Pakistan's men and Japan's women have claimed their respective Asian Champions Trophies as the competition came to a close in the Japanese city of Kakamigahara today.

The triumphant men's team saw off the challenge of their Japanese counterparts, and defeated the home favourites 3-1 to retain the title.

Although Japan got the game underway with an early goal, second half goals from Abdul Haseem Khan, Muhammad Rizwan Senior and Hammad Butt ensured the gold was going home to Pakistan.

The men's bronze medal went to Malaysia, who defeated China 3-1, thanks to a pair of goals from Faizal Saari and another from Azammi Abadi.

Meanwhile in the women's contest, the home athletes took the title over India thanks to a solitary goal from Otsuka Shiho, who scored from a penalty corner in the second minute of the game.

The Malaysian women matched the performance of their male compatriots and secured the bronze with a victory over China.

Despite an early strike from China's Zhao Xia, Rabiatul Adawiyah - who scored twice - and Noor Hasliza brought the Malaysians back into the game to ultimately take the medal.
