Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has met with the Bahrain Olympic Committee President Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Gudaibiya Palace, to discuss upcoming youth and sport programmes.

Sheikh Nasser informed the Prime Minister that several programmes aimed at upgrading the youth and sport sectors are due to be launched in the coming months.

The aim of the programmes would be to facilitate a modern and advanced strategy surrounding sport throughout Bahrain.

Sheikh Nasser, who is also the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman, was praised by the Prime Minister for his role in promoting youth and sports movements in the country.

He claimed that under his leadership there had been many, noting landmark achievements by the country on the regional and international sporting stages.

Prime Minister Al Khalifa stated that contributions from youth and sports movements to the national march had been increased, which highlighted his Government’s commitment to develop the sectors and help youngsters fulfil their potential, aiding the country in the future.

He reflected on the importance of developing youth throughout Bahrain, not only in sport, but enhancing their creative skills and talents in fields such as science, in a bid to boost the country's development and add additional security and stability.
