International Boxing Association (AIBA) stars David Graf of Germany and Kazakhstan's Anton Pinchuk will clash on the undercard of the much anticipated showdown between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury in Dusseldorf on Saturday (November 28).

The fight, the first of its kind, will mark the beginning of a "new era" and will be "a natural step forward in the expansion of AIBA boxing initiated by President C K Wu since the beginning of his Presidency in 2006", the governing body has claimed.

Traditionally an organisation for amateur boxers, AIBA has now increasingly opened its doors for pro fighters with its AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) scheme which was launched in 2014.

This allows a boxer to turn pro while remaining under the patronage of their National Federation, and therefore AIBA, throughout their career.

This means the fighters involved retain the right to represent their country and feature at the Olympics.

Heavyweight Graf has won both his APB bouts against tough Argentinian Yamil Peralta and Bulgaria’s London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, Tervel Pulev.

His Kazakh opponent Pinchuk has already won five bouts in APB, losing only to Italy's double world champion Clemente Russo.

Both boxers boast a similar style in the ring, with reigning Asian Games champion Pinchuk hoping to use his greater experience to overcome the home favourite in the German city.

The fight will last eight-rounds, and will be one of five undercard bouts building up to the major affair on Saturday night, which will see Ukrainian Klitschko defend his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles against Britain's Fury.

AIBA has increasingly sought to integrate all types boxing in recent years, with an ultimate aim of having professional fighters competing in the Olympic Games.

“We are very pleased with the results of the first year which crowned APB champions across the globe in 10 weight categories," added Wu, who invited professional stars including Philippines' eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao and Britain's Amir Khan to last month's World Championships in Doha.

"This is a unique opportunity for both boxers to compete in front of more than 40,000 fans in Germany, which participates in our vision for APB development in the future."

Fury's showdown with Klitschko is one of the most anticipated fights this year, with the British showman hoping to upset one of the sport's most established names.
