An agreement has been signed between USA Volleyball and Sports Illustrated Play, a digital software business devoted to youth and amateur sports.

The company was set-up by Time Inc. - the owners of Sports Illustrated magazine - in July.

They aim to use "simple tools and technology to help hundreds of thousands of teams of all shapes and sizes operate with peak efficiency and success".

As USA Volleyball's "Official Club Management Software Partner", club directors and those involved in the junior game will be able to use tools helping them do a range of activities, including player sign-up, squad management and scheduling.

A team-focused web and mobile app, entitled TeamWALL™, will also be used by team managers, parents and players.

This seeks to enhance communication within affiliated leagues and teams.

"Our partnership with Sports Illustrated Play will enhance the off-the-court playing experience for our club directors and junior members," said USA Volleyball secretary general Kerry Klostermann.

"This will create a win-win-win scenario for all involved,"

The American-based firm is also a partner of US Lacrosse and works across a range of other sports, including American football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, soccer and softball.

They claim to power "hundreds of thousands of teams and millions of youth and amateur players, families, and coaches across a wide range of sports, geographies, and age ranges".

"As USA Volleyball's new Official Club Management Software Partner, we are committed to enabling a more rewarding youth sports experience for all of USA Volleyball participants: players, their parents, coaches and the officials that are part of the game," added the company's chief executive Jeff Karp.

"We are proud to welcome USA Volleyball and its loyal membership to our organisation."
