France claimed a female double today as the International Judo Federaton (IJF) Almaty Grand Prix continued at the Sport Palace Baluan Sholak, with Margaux Pinot and Marie Eve Gahie each claiming gold.

Pinot, winner of the Samsun Grand Prix, overcame Asian Championships bronze medallist and top seed Tsend-Ayush Tserennadmid in the under 63 kilograms final, conceding just one shido penalty in comparison with her opponent's two.

She was now be hoping to be picked ahead of former world champion team-mate Clarise Agbegnenou, who was not picked this week.
