Australia qualified for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Under-15 World Cup after being crowned champions of Oceania in Auckland.

This result means that 11 of the 12 competing nations for the World Cup,due to take place in Panama in August, have now been decided.

Australia went undefeated in their campaign against hosts New Zealand, Fiji and New Caledonia to earn the Oceania youth title.

The teams qualified for next year's tournament are now South Africa, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, United States, Cuba, Panama, Brazil, Germany, The Netherlands and Australia.

The 12th entrant will be a wildcard decided by the WBSC. 

Cuba have won the last two editions of the WBSC Under-15 World Cup, in Mazatlán in Mexico, in 2014 and Japanese city Iwaki in 2016.

The 2018 tournament in Panama City will see the number of innings in a match reduced from nine to seven.
