Kristina Tomic was the first gold medallist for the Croatians as she secured the title in the women's under-49 kilogram category, thanks to a 17-7 win over Iris Tang Sing of Brazil.

Colombia's Camila Rodriguez shared bronze with Egypt's Mennatalla Medhat.

Bruna Vuletic kept up Croatia's record by claiming the title in the women's under-57kg competition, coming out on top against Great Britain's Isobella McNeish by a 43-10 scoreline.

Germany’s Anna-Lena Froemming shared bronze with Nada Laaraj of host nation Morocco.

Morocco's Achraf Mahboubi made sure the locals went home happy as he secured the title in the men's under-74kg division thanks to a 19-17 win against Mali's Seydou Fofana.
