Tove Alexandersson won her second gold medal of the World Orienteering Championships in Latvia as she claimed the women's long distance title.

The Swede, now a seven-time world champion who has already tasted mixed sprint relay success in Riga, was victorious in 74min 4sec.

She won by nearly a minute-and-a-half over Denmark's Maja Alm, who clocked 75:31.

Sabine Hauswirth of Switzerland won the bronze medal as the International Orienteering Federation's flagship event concluded.

Her time was 76.30.

In the men's event, Norway's Olav Lundanes won a third world long distance title in a row.

He won by more than two minutes as he completed the course in 97.43.

Ukraine's Ruslan Glibov won the silver medal in a time of 100:20 as Switzerland won the bronze, just as with the women's event.

Fabian Hertner came home to seal third place, in a time of 100:47.
