Sweden defeated Croatia to take the fifth place spot at the International Handball Federation (IHF) Men's World Championship.

Sweden narrowly beat Croatia 34-28 at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning to earn fifth place, with Croatia finishing sixth in the tournament.

Earlier in the day, Spain won against Egypt 36-31 to take seventh place.

The final between hosts Denmark and Norway is due to take place in Herning tomorrow, preceded by the third place fixture between France and Germany.
