Chinese Taipei are set to compete at this year's World Squash Federation (WSF) Women's World Junior Team Squash Championship for the first time, it has been announced.

Taiwanese players will make their debut at the event, scheduled to be held in Malaysia from August 5 to 9.

A total of 18 nations are due to participate at the World Junior Team Squash Championship, including Australia, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Hong Kong China, India, Ireland, Japan and hosts Malaysia.

Eight-time champions Egypt will be aiming for a ninth title and seventh consecutive crown.

The Egyptian side will head into the tournament as favourites following their most recent triumph in New Zealand in 2017.

This year's edition of the competition will be the 18th held since the inaugural event in 1985, won by Australia.

"We are thrilled to be host to these young teams at our superb National Centre facilities at Bukit Jalil," said Squash Rackets Association of Malaysia director Maniam Singaraveloo.

"And obviously we look forward to a strong finish from the home team."
