British Weight Lifting (BWL) is set to hold its Age Group Championships in October virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This event will also incorporate the England Age Groups Championships which were postponed earlier this year in March.
As with the virtual Open Series competitions, results from the virtual British and England Age Group Championships will be recognised for qualification and ranking to future events.
Results will not be eligible for new records, however.
Medallists will receive their medals in the post, with results being made available within three working days of the final submission date.
Submissions are set to be accepted from October 12 to 18.
The England Senior Championships, originally scheduled for November 7 to 8, is currently under review to assess if a physical event can take place.
If a physical event is not deemed possible, then a virtual hosting format will be used instead.
Nearly all BWL events due to take place this year were postponed or cancelled as a result of the global health crisis.
BWL has reassessed the opportunity to return to hosting physical events and released a return to competition document.
The organisation claims the majority of members support a return to physical competition, with key issues addressed such as the use of sanitising products, face masks and social distancing.
