Disability Sports Australia (DSA) has partnered with children's charity Variety to deliver Activate Inclusion Sport Days (AISD) programmes across the nation.

It follows the DSA's agreement to deliver 22 AISD programmes across New South Wales, in collaboration with Sport NSW.

These activities will showcase inclusive sport to young people across Australia.

DSA is set to roll out the programmes in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania after receiving three successful grants to finance the project from Variety.

Murray Elbourn, chief executive of DSA, spoke specifically on the partnership in South Australia, noting the programme would start in the latter months of the year.

"This highlights the needs of students with disabilities in South Australia to become more active, more often but within an adaptive and inclusive environment," said Elbourn.

"Variety South Australia are committed to supporting this initiative that will begin in term four of 2021, COVID circumstances permitting."

DSA, through Disability Sports Northern Territory, delivered the first AISD programme in the Northern Territory in June 2021 and its next event is scheduled for September.

Tasmania's next programme is set to begin in the second week in October, while South Australia's activities are expected to run into 2022.
