Defending champions Sweden breezed into the semi-finals of the Women's World Floorball Championship in Uppsala.

The host nation beat Norway 13-0, scoring eight of those goals in a brutal second period.

Maja Vistrom bagged a hat-trick and also set up two more goals in one of the standout individual performances.

The Swedes are seeking to win an eighth world title in a row, and laid down a marker in booking their spot in the final four.

Yet so too did Finland, the team beaten by Sweden in five of the last seven finals.

The Finns demolished Poland 14-0 in the other quarter-final played today at IFU Arena.

Veera Kauppi impressed with four goals.

Sweden and Finland are through to opposing semi-finals, so could still meet in the final.

The Czech Republic face Denmark and Switzerland are up against Slovakia in the other quarter-finals, which will be played tomorrow.
