The first dual moguls event of the International Ski Federation's (FIS) Freestyle World Cup of the season is set to be held in the Swedish resort of Idre Fjall this weekend, following the second leg of the men's and women's individual competitions.

Women's dual mogul and men's mogul qualifications are scheduled for tomorrow, with the equivalent for the women's moguls and men's dual moguls competitions planned for Saturday (December 11) and Sunday (December 12) respectively.

Competition will be held at the Specialen in Idre Fjall.

The Canadian reigning men's Olympic champion Mikaël Kingsbury began the season with a victory in the individual event at Ruka last weekend, with Kazakhstan's Pavel Kolmakov and Ikuma Horishima of Japan also finishing on the podium.

Kingsbury also triumphed in the moguls and dual moguls events at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships earlier this year.

France's Benjamin Cavet triumphed on this leg of the circuit last year.

Last season's World Cup winner Matt Graham of Australia came 10th at the opener in Finland.

Olivia Giaccio of the United States claimed her first ever Moguls World Cup victory in last weekend's women's event, and was joined in the top three by Jakara Anthony of Australia and fellow American Kai Owens.

France's Perrine Laffont won all three individual World Cups last season, including one in Idre Fjall, but placed fourth in Ruka.

Home favourite Ludvig Fjällström along with Graham jointly won the men's dual moguls event at this venue last season, while Laffont added victory in the women's dual moguls to her list of honours.

Ten moguls and five moguls events are planned on the 2021-2022 circuit.
