Spain claimed the gold and silver medals in the mixed team trap event on the fourth day of competition at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Lonato.

Olympic champions Alberto Fernandez and Fatima Galvez defeated their compatriots Adria Martinez Torres and Mar Molne Magrina 6-2 to take the title in Italy.

Both sides were level after two rounds of shooting, but Fernandez and Galvez pulled away, winning 9-8 in the third round to score two, and 8-7 in the last round.

Two bronze medals were won, with Adrian Drobny and Zuzana Rehák-Štefečeková of Slovakia winning a shoot-off to defeat home favourites Alessia Iezzi and Valerio Grazini.

With the score at 5-5, the Slovakians won in the tiebreaker.

James Willett and Catherine Skinner from Australia were the other bronze medallists on the podium, winning 7-3 against Czech Republic's Jiri Liptak and Lea Kucerova.

Both teams were level after three rounds, but the Australians took the lead in the fourth with 10 targets hit out of 10, before extending their lead in the fifth round.
