The Amundi Evian Championship, which begins tomorrow in the French village of Evian Les Bains. is the fourth Major of the women's golf season and is set to feature the top five in the world rankings.

The field of 132 will be headed by world number one Ko Jin-young of South Korea, Player of the Year in 2021.

Fourteen of the 15 tournament winners on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour in 2022 are set to tee off.

Australia's Minjee Lee won the US Open last month and returns to the course where she won her first Major a year ago after a playoff victory against South Korea's Jeongeun Lee6, who adds the number six to her name to distinguish her from namesakes on the circuit.

Olympic gold medallist Nelly Korda of the United States is also set to compete after returning from a blood clot scare earlier in the year.

She finished equal eighth on her return at the US Open last month. 

Last weekend she shot a 61 in the Dow Great Lakes invitational team event playing alongside her sister Jessica.

The Evian Championship is the first of four consecutive women's tournaments to be played in Europe over the next month.

The home French fans will be looking out for Paulin Roussin who plays the Evian as a professional for the first time this year. 

She had previously played in the event twice as an amateur.

The top 70 and ties after the first 36 holes advance to the last two rounds at the weekend.

The winner is set to receive $975,000 (£818,876/ €957,693).
