Last season's champion Gyda Westvold Hansen added to her victory yesterday as she completed the women's individual 5-kilometres Gundersen.

The Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic champion set the highest score in the ski jumping segment with 132.0 points before setting a third-best time of 14min 14.6sec in the cross-country to take the win.

Her compatriot Ida Marie Hagen made up for a poor showing on the jump, where she ended seventh on 104.9 points, to lead the cross-country rankings with a time of 13:48.2.

It meant she finished 1:21.6 behind overall while Austrian Lisa Hirner bagged the bronze medal a further 0.9 away from Hagen.

Hirner scored 117.4 points in the jump and registered a time of 14:39.1 in the 5km race.

In the men's event, a 10km Gundersen, Jens Luraas Oftebro and Jarl Magnus Riiber led the Norwegian charge.

Oftebro clinched the win thanks to his leading jump which amassed 140.4 points.

It gave him a 22-second advantage out of the gate over Riiber in the cross-country race which was vital as the reigning champion finished 9.5 away.

Germany's Vinzenz Geiger made up for an 18th-placed jump by crossing the line second which meant he finished in third overall, 39.5 off Oftebro.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with the men's large hill 10km Gundersen.
