Nurgyul Salimova won her tie break today to qualify for the FIDE Women's World Cup Final©FIDE

Bulgaria’s Nurgyul Salimova has reached the final of the International Chess Federation Women’s World Cup here in Baku.

Salimova defeated Ukraine’s Anna Muzychuk in the second set of tie break games and will meet Russia’s Aleksandra Goryachkina playing as a neutral in the final.

The final is scheduled for Saturday August 19.

Meanwhile 18-year-old Indian prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa defeated his compatriot Arjun Erigaisi in a tiebreak contest which went through two rounds of rapid and a round of blitz before the decisive moment in a single blitz game.

Praggnanandhaa is now set to meet Fabiano Caruana of the United States for a place in the final.

Friday (August 18) is a rest day in the FIDE Open World Cup and play resumes on Saturday.
