Six lucky youngsters from across the UK, including nine-year-old Josh Davidson, will fly the flag for Team GB at the Paris Olympics in this summer. The British Olympic Association (BOA) received more than 20,000 video entries from parents and guardians vying to have their child selected as a mini-mascot.

Josh, the only mascot from Scotland, was selected after his video entry impressed the judges and he will be supporting Team GB athletes in the lead up to the Paris Games. The children will be involved in fan zones and will be at the kitting out ceremony in Birmingham when the athletes receive their coveted Olympic kit.

The nine-year-old may be dreaming of a trip to the French capital but first she has a taekwondo tournament to compete in at the weekend. "It feels really good to be a mascot because like, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, I'm the only one from Scotland doing it and not many people get to do it," Josh told STV News.

"He works really hard and he is really passionate about taekwondo. So, to see him get an opportunity where he can meet and talk to some top class athletes, is yeah, we're really proud, really happy," said Josh's parents Angela and Mark.
