Santiago Acosta praised the organisation of the event and the level of preparation of the competitors, and also thanked the Chilean National SAMBO and Martial Arts Federation for the opportunity to take part in the Cup.

The "Khabib Cup" is a competition named after the living legend of mixed martial arts, the incomparable and undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov. With his example, he shows the Chilean Sambists how important and fundamental a sport like SAMBO is, and what a huge role SAMBO plays for athletes in mixed martial arts. I am confident that this fact will bring additional popularity to SAMBO in our country," said Nelson Romero, President of the Chilean National Sports Federation of Sambo and Martial Arts.
