Luol_Deng_British_basketballer_12-08-11August 11 - British Basketball has today announced its 15-player senior men's roster to compete at the London International Basketball Invitational next week.

Four notable inclusions are Andrew Lawrence, Ryan Richards, Devon van Oostrum and Kyle Johnson who, having proved themselves through the Great Britain under-20 and Futures team's pathways this year, have gone on to earn their places in the senior squad supported by Standard Life.

The quartet follow in the footsteps of 2010 GB Futures players Ogo Adegboye and Matthew Bryan-Amaning.

Head coach Chris Finch believes preparations have gone well ahead of the test event tournament next week and he anticipates the presence of Luol Deng (pictured) and Rob Archibald will boost things further: "The first phase of training camp was very productive.

"The addition of Luol and Rob over the next few days will obviously help.

"The test event provides us with an opportunity to see our guys versus outstanding competition.

"The final 12 players will have earned their spot once we head to Lithuania for the EuroBasket finals at the end of the month."

Five players - Flinder Boyd, Justin Robinson, Devan Bailey, Alex Marcotullio and Kieron Achara - have been released from camp.

Finch said how tough it had been to make the decision: "Cutting this group to 15 was very difficult.

"The guys who have been released today are part of the GB family and have committed multiple summers to our cause; I respect and appreciate their commitment.

"It was hard to let them go."

During the London International Basketball Invitational next week, GB will take on France (August 16), Croatia (August 17), Serbia (August 18), China (August 20) and Australia (August 21) in the Basketball Arena on the Olympic Park.
