Johnson and Hoey scheme hits its sports legacy investment mark

Boris_Johnson_with_Kate_HoeyMay 25 - The grass roots sports legacy initiative launched by London Mayor Boris Johnson and his Sports Commissioner Kate Hoey two years ago, which targeted matching its overall £15.5 million ($25.2 million) investment through the Sports Legacy Fund with equivalent outside funding, announced today that it expects to have generated £20 million ($33 million) of additional income from outside agencies by next month.

May 20 - More than 10,000 promising young British sportsmen and women, including athletes Emma Jackson, Stacey Smith and Ricky Stevenson, have so far entered a competition to take up the last place in a new sporting legacy initiative providing funding and development, as well as the support of three international performers.
