Japan's Kamiji was the first player to progress to the final with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over De Groot’s fellow Dutchwoman Aniek van Koot at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.

Wimbledon champion De Groot then beat compatriot Marjolein Buis 7-5, 6-4 to set up a third Super Series final of the season with her rival.

Kamiji won the previous two finals after victories at the Japan Open in May and last month’s British Open.

The pair have faced each other five times in total so far this season, with four of their meetings coming in Super Series events.

De Groot’s sole win over Kamiji so far this year goes back to the very first week of the 2017 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour in January, when she won their semi-final at the Sydney Open.

In the men’s doubles semi-finals, top seeds and reigning Paralympic champions Stéphane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer of France beat Belgium’s Joachim Gérard and Japan’s Takuya Miki 6-3, 6-1.

Houdet and Peifer are looking to make it five titles in six Super Series events this season.

Argentina’s Gustavo Fernández and Japan’s Shingo Kunieda will be out to stop them after defeating Great Britain’s Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid 7-5, 6-3.

The quads doubles final will see top seeds Andy Lapthorne and David Wagner play second seeds Antony Cotterill and Heath Davidson after both duos won their semi-finals.

Britain’s Lapthorne and American Wagner, the three-time Australian Open champions, thrashed South Africa’s Lucas Sithole and the US’s Nick Taylor 6-0, 6-0.

The other semi-final was much closer as Britain’s Cotterill and Australia’s Davidson overcame American Bryan Barten and The Netherlands’ Sam Schroder 7-6, 7-5.

Action is due to continue tomorrow before concluding on Sunday (September 3).
