United Arab Emirates’ Abdulla Sultan Alaryani earned a gold medal on the penultimate day of the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup season in Bangkok.

Alaryani was in impressive form in Thailand’s capital city as he attempted to claim victory in the men’s R7 50m rifle three positions event.

He was challenged by Israeli shooter Doron Shaziri throughout the event, the pair ultimately reaching the last series of the competition.

Alaryani held the advantage prior to the final shot and he maintained his lead, ending with a winning total of 452.5 points.

Shaziri settled for the silver medal on 451.2 points with Park Jin-ho taking the bronze.

The South Korean had set a world record in the men’s R1 10 metres air rifle standing competition yesterday, taking the gold medal in that event.

Minimum qualification standard points for next year's World Shooting Para Sport Championships in Cheongju in South Korea have been on offer at the event.
