The Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) has signed a co-operation agreement with professional sportswear brand Peak Sport Products.

The agreement, which runs through to December 31, 2020, makes Peak the exclusive sportswear partner of Belgium’s Olympic and Paralympic teams.

As well as Tokyo 2020, it covers events such as the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the Minsk 2019 European Games.

Belgium’s athletes for Tokyo 2020 will wear functional and high-quality sports clothing in the Olympic Village, during the Closing Ceremony and during the medal ceremonies.

"With our choice of Peak, we aim for optimum quality and thus take a new step in the optimal preparation of our athletes at the various Olympic competitions," BOIC chief executive Philippe Vander Putten said.

Rob Vanhees, the BOIC’s marketing and partnerships manager, added: "Peak is a very flexible company that makes high-quality sportswear and sports shoes.

"They are people with a strong passion for sport and that is what they feel in the products they make, completely tailored to Team Belgium."

Peak already works together with other Olympic Committees, including those of Brazil, Iceland, New Zealand and Slovenia.

The Brazilian Olympic Committee signed an agreement in September 2017.

Peak has also established partnerships with the national basketball associations of Germany and Serbia.
