Amman in Jordan is scheduled to host the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Continental Forum for Asia.

The meeting is due to take place on Friday (March 6).

Forums have already been held for the Americas in Panama City and Oceania in Natadola in Fiji.

Assisi in Italy was meant to be hosting the European Forum this weekend, but the event was cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

The forums were devised by AIBA marketing commission chair Umar Kremlev to create fruitful dialogue between AIBA, Confederations and National Federations after a crisis-riddled year for the organisation.

AIBA was stripped of its Olympic status last June over a number of issues, including governance, finances and refereeing and judging.

The organisation's future remains precarious due to a large amount of debt and uncertain leadership, with Mohamed Moustahsane currently acting as Interim President after the resignation of Uzbekistan's Gafur Rakhimov.

"It is is our mission to see all the National Federations and discuss reforms and further steps forward for AIBA," Moustahsane said.

"Only can we overcome the current situation and find the way to consistent future.

"Asia is developing on the wings of the wind, but each region of the continent has its own issues.

"We are going to Jordan to hear all the existing aspects from our members.

"This continent has a huge potential for further development, and we will put all our efforts to create good conditions for grassroots.

"But first we need to save AIBA, to implement reforms and build strong organisation which will take care of each Confederation and each National Federation."

Moustahsane and Kremlev have both been present at the previous Forums, and are expected to be in attendance in Amman.
