Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud secured his 10th International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup victory of the season and his fourth in a row on the second day of competition in Klingenthal in Germany.

The win for Granerud saw him extend his lead in the overall standings to over 400 points and is more than four victories ahead of his rivals with nine events to go.

He narrowly claimed gold ahead of Slovenia's Bor Pavlovčič after scoring 288.5 points.

Pavlovčič earned 287.8 to take silver as he was denied his first World Cup triumph.

Germany's Markus Eisenbichler, Granerud's closest challenger in the race for the overall title, won bronze with a total of 285.7 and extended his lead over Kamil Stoch of Poland, who sits third on the leaderboard.

Stoch finished sixth behind Norway's Robert Johansson and Yukiya Sato of Japan, while his compatriot Dawid Kubacki finished seventh.

Keiichi Sato of Japan had his best performance since finishing fifth in Russia in early December, having ended the day in eighth today.

Completing the top 10 was Slovenia's Anže Lanišek and Germany's Martin Hamann.

Piotr Żyła of Poland, fourth in the overall standings, could only finish 17th, while Norway's Marius Lindvik continued to have a turbulent weekend as he was disqualified.
