Ravel voted US Horse of the Year

January 15 - Ravel (pictured) has been voted the 2009 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Farnam®/Platform Horse of the Year for his outstanding dressage performances, including winning the FEI World Cup Dressage Final in Las Vegas last April.






Daley to use new dive at 2010 debut

January 14 - Tom Daley will compete for the first time since winning the world title in Rome last year when he joins the rest of Britain's top divers to compete in the British Gas National Cup 2010 at Sheffield next month, where he is due to debut a new addition to his routine.

Indian hockey dispute settled thanks to Kalmadi

January 13 -  India's hockey players today ended a a week-long strike and agreed to resume training for the World Cup starting in New Delhi  next month after Suresh Kalmadi (pictured) stepped in to settle a pay dispute and the sponsors agreed to pay their demands.


Semenya plans to start competing again this month

January 13 - A major row is developing between Caster Semenya (pictured) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) after the world 800 metres champion announced today that she plans to resume her career in South Africa at the end of this month before heading to Europe to compete in the sport's top meetings.
