Russia claimed two gold medals on the final day of the Fazza Para Archery World Ranking Tournament at the Dubai Club for People of Determination to help the country finish top of the medal table.
Russia’s golds came in the women’s compound open and men’s recurve open as individual competitions were the focus on the final day of action.
In the women’s compound open, gold went to Stepanida Artakhinova who narrowly defeated Jyoti Baliyan of India 130-128.
Another Russian was involved in the bronze medal match, but Anastasia Dzhioeva was beaten 142-132 by Yorulmaz Sevgi of Turkey.
Russia’s other gold of the day came in the men’s recurve open category with Anton Ziapaev defeating Mykola Halyshych of Ukraine 6-0.
Bronze went to Guillaume Toucoullet of France who beat Sadik Savas of Turkey 7-1.
Russia ended the event with four medals – three golds and a silver, enough to top the medal table ahead of Turkey.

Turkey claimed a total of eight medals at the competition – three gold, two silver and three bronze, to finish second in the medal table.
Turkey’s gold on the final day came in the women’s recurve open where Yagmur Sengul defeated back-to-back Paralympic champion Zahra Nemati of Iran 6-2.
Turkey also claimed bronze in the women’s recurve open with Merve Nur Eroglu overcoming Nataliya Malykh of Ukraine 6-2.
In third place in the medal table were India, with two golds and three silvers.
India were guaranteed two medals in the men’s compound open category, as Rakesh Kumar faced Shyam Sundar Swami in the gold medal match.
Kumar beat his compatriot 143-135 in the battle for gold while bronze went to Marcel Pavlik of Slovakia who defeated Erdogan Aygan of Turkey 141-138.
